Hurting

My hands are hurting a lot from folding, therefore i am resting for a bit. I've been in the garden lately, as the weather has been rather swell and the other week, Dad was cutting this strange palm tree down in the front garden (the winter was so cold it killed the tree) and i was tidying all the dead leaves up and found a peculiar leaf which i you just have to see! So I then put it aside because it was JUST so awesome. THENNN blow me down i found another!

Also i took a picture of the largest weeping beech in Derby (which just so happens to be in my back garden) just before the spring and i have just taken on the other day. Look at how beautiful it is now i has some leaves :)

Feather

Also check out my feather. It's feathery.
I'm making a kind of decorative hanging with some illustrations, this being one of them, i'll upload soon :)

Progression

8 a day? 8 A DAY! How can a calculation be SO wrong!
Oh my word. I think it must have been 80 and i read it wrong because DAMNNN is this taking a long time. My hands a slightly crippled but alas, i shall solider on!

Below is a picture of the base, a bag of triangles which gets bigger everyday/ i'm on a new bag and me in the garden at my sunny workstation.

OVER AND OUT!

Origami

Can't believe I have forgotten to post about this but i followed a tutorial on youtube, this one infact http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2xlwq1dNt3g on how to make a 3D origami swan. I wasn't really getting anywhere with my project with 2D illustration so thought i'd try 3D.

I made the small scale swan and am now on a mission, creating a HUGEEE one, using A4 paper for each individual triangle. I did the maths (probably wrong, maths isn't my forte) but I aim to make around 2020 triangles, which would give me enough for the body, both wings and the neck. It sounds like a lot but i have about four weeks and if i do about 8 a day i should be okay :)

I've currently done 270 and will probably have done 300 later on.

Swan

I've just got a new scanner which now let's me scan in big things rather than take rubbish photos of them. It also means that i have to spend a long while match up different pieces of the image because it's actually and A3 image. Not mastered it yet but it's not too bad for a first attempt!

So I'm doing my FMP. I always forget to update my blog these days. SIlly me. Anyway, I've drawn this swan because I've been reading Roald Dahl's 'The Wonderful Story of Henry Sugar & six more' which has a story called 'The Swan' within it, which i am going to try and illustrate and create advertisements for bookshops for :)
